DuoVNCPrivacy Policy
DuoVNC is an app that lets you connect from your iPhone to the screen of your own Mac using VNC (macOS Screen Sharing). This policy explains what data DuoVNC uses and how. In short: DuoVNC does not collect, store or send any personal data to us or to third parties.
1. Data we collect
DuoVNC has no user accounts, servers, advertising or analytics. No information about your use of the app is sent to Porego or to any other company.
2. Information stored on your device
- Saved connections (connection name, the Mac's address, port, username and display preferences) are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's own container.
- Passwords are stored only if you choose to save them, and only in your device's Keychain; they are not backed up to iCloud and never leave your device.
Deleting the app deletes this information.
3. Connections and screen content
DuoVNC connects directly to the address you enter (for example, your Mac on your Tailscale network). Screen images and keyboard and mouse events travel only between your iPhone and the computer you connect to; there is no Porego server in between. The security of this traffic depends on the network you use (for example, Tailscale) and on your Mac's Screen Sharing settings.
4. Clipboard
Text you copy on your Mac may be transferred to your iPhone's clipboard. Your iPhone's clipboard is read only when you tap "Send Clipboard to Mac" or the paste button, and it is sent only to the Mac you are connected to.
5. Network permission
iOS may ask for local network permission so the app can connect to devices on your local network or Tailscale network. This permission is used only to connect to the computers you add.
6. Children
DuoVNC is not directed at children and does not collect data from any age group.
7. Changes
If we update this policy, we will publish the new version on this page.
